Y'all, This is Yum!

Updated: May 10

Going up to visit darling daughter and her family and wanted to take a gluten-free dessert so that everyone could enjoy. Everything I know has flour in it! Finally occurred to me: Aunt Rita's chocolate pie recipe with Grandmother's meringue pie crust would be perfect. And for a little twist, how about we make them minis?

Y'all this is good stuff! No artificial or processed yuck yuck - only all natural and recognizable ingredients: butter, eggs, vanilla, cocoa, sugar, and milk. The chocolate pie recipe did call for 2 1/2 tablespoons of flour, but cornstarch is a handy one-for-one substitute as a thickener (not as an ingredient). And when the chocolate is hot....my oh my! I ate mine before lunch - much less getting it packed to go on the trip!

Perhaps you can try cornstarch for your favorite pies that require flour and your favorite people that need gluten-free? :)
